MOBILE HOME IN SPAIN NEWSLETTER ARCHIVE OCT 2016

Now to Scotland: After attending the Lawns Caravan Show in Cottingham near Hull at the beginning of September and the Beaulieu Caravan Show in the New Forest last weekend we will be ending the 2016 mobile home show season at the Place in the Sun live exhibition at the SECC in Glasgow – 29th-30th October 2016.
Unlike the Lawns and the Beaulieu shows the Place in the Sun show in Glasgow is not all about mobile homes. There will only be one on display. The show is all about information on how to live abroad. That is a perfect format for us to send Martin there. He will be there to offer advice about retiring to Spain and of course offer any help when it comes to checking out the lifestyle that the residents are currently enjoying.
For the Place in the Sun Live exhibition in Glasgow all you need do is find the one and only mobile homeon display and ask for Martin from Costa Difference Ltd.
This will be the first time we will be sending someone to the Glasgow Place in the Sun Live show and for Martin it will also be his first time to Glasgow as well. So if you live near Glasgow and want to get all your questions answered in person please go to the show and ask for Martin at the display mobile home.
>>> The shows are very informative in every way <<<
Ex-Pat: Patrick was heard the other night telling one of his funny stories in the bar. It turns out that he has been in Skype contact with a Peter and Lyn who are about to complete their purchase of a mobile homeon the park. They are planning to move over from the UK, lock stock and barrel. Peter and Lyn had exchanged contact details with Ex-Pat after chatting with him in the bar during their 4 day visit. Ex-Pat like many of the residents loves chatting to visitors as they wander around the park soaking up the atmosphere.
During the Skype call Peter mentioned that they had a small dog. He asked EX-Pat if he had a dog and if so how did he get his dog over to Spain.
“Simple” said EX-Pat (he has a poodle) “he flew over with me”. “All I needed to do was to produce the Pet Passport documents and ensure that the dog was traveling in a travel kennel large enough for the airline staff to see that the dog can stand up, sit down, turn around, and roll over inside it”.
“Oh” said Peter, “that means I have a real problem now”. “Why is that” asked EX-Pat, somewhat confused. “Because we will never be able to teach our dog how to do all that in a travel kennel before we leave for Spain” said Peter. EX-Pat is still laughing now.

Driving on the right: Here is a tip for anyone who has never driven on the right hand side in a left hand drive car before. Hire a small car from the airport (after being on the park for a week or so) and use it for a couple of weeks whilst you are waiting for your NIE number to come through. The park will get that under way as soon as you arrive.
The cost of hiring a car here in Spain is very reasonable and you do not need an NIE number to hire one. You only need your passport and driving licence. Check out www.gitgad.com to see how cheap hiring a car is out of season. Choose dates at least a month ahead which is what you would do if you were to coming to Spain.
Once you have your NIE issued you will then be in a position to buy a car. There are plenty of people on either park to tell you where the best place is to get one. Insurance is also easy as we have “Linea Directa” the Spanish Direct Line Insurance and they accept your current UK no claims bonus.
By the time you get to buy your car here in Spain you will be very comfortable driving on the right hand side. The roads are not busy here so driving is a pleasure.
>>> We do not recommend bringing a UK car to Spain <<<
Virtual tours of resale homes: Here is a wonderful idea and all credit goes to a client who visited the park a few months ago called Heather. Once back in the UK she asked if we could arrange for someone to do a virtual tour of a resale mobile home for her using a tablet with built in camera connected to a her in the UK via Skype. Of course we said, just give us time to put something together. We started doing some tests and yes we can now offer that service on Park La Posada.
The virtual tour we can now offer will be in this format. We have now registered “Posada Homes” as a standalone Skype name. If you would like to have a virtual tour of any resale mobile home advertised for sale on Park La Posada all we need is your “Skype name” and a contact telephone number in advance. We will then add you to the Skype contacts for the Posada Homes Skype account so we can initiate a Skype call when ready. At a pre-arranged time, we will make a Skype call with the camera running from the home you would like see in more detail. Connected by headphones this end you will also be able to direct the person holding the tablet with camera within the home.
This service will be ideal for people who want a much better idea as to what a home is really like before booking flights to come and see the home itself. Price alert subscribers should register their Skype names anyway so they can react to a price alert straight away. .
>>> What a clever idea. Thank you Heather <<<
Spanish you will hear: Living in real Spain is one huge part of the retirement lifestyle (it is not all about park life), so why not let us help you in advance to understand a few words that the residents hear all the time when they venture into real Spain, which as you already know begins as soon as they leave the park.
The phrase this month is Habla inglés? (ahblah een glays)? – Do you speak English? While it is never correct to assume that everyone speaks English, you can at least ask if they do in Spanish. The chances are they will say “Un poco”, “a little”.
That is then the green light to talk “Spanglish”. A little Spanish and a little English. The one thing you can be sure of is that you will understand each other in the end.
>>> The lifestyle is great so say a few words in Spanish <<<
Combine a 3-night visit with a holiday: We have dedicated park visits for only £79 per person that include airport transfers and three nights’ hotel accommodation. However, your visit to Spain does not need to end there. There is no reason why we cannot take you back to the airport for you to hire a car instead so that you can extend the stay into a holiday as well.
If we know the name of the hotel or apartments you have booked, we will be able to give you instructions on how to get there.
We have set up www.gitgas.com to help you search for hotel deals in the resort you choose. For Park La Posada you have Malaga, Benalmadena, Torremolinos and Fuengirola just a short drive from the airport. For Paradise Park you have the town of Elche, the resort of Santa Pola or the city of Alicante to choose from.
Car hire prices can be found on www.gitgad.com of course. At the end of the stay you simply return the car back to the airport and catch your return flight back to the UK.
>>> You can also get to know the area this way <<<
Finally: 2016 looks like being a fantastic year for many. Lots of resale mobile homes have been sold so far this year and quite recently we have had quite a few new residents settle into their new lifestyle on the parks.
Settling in is easy thanks to the office, Cath the interpreter and of course the staff in reception. The residents who are already settled here in Spain also play a big part. They are the main reason why the lifestyle works so well. They are always welcoming and supportive.
So how does it all work? Well to begin with Steve is the main man who makes people’s dreams come true. He takes care of the buying process from the accepted offer sheet stage through to sales contracts to govern the sale itself. He also ensures that the home is checked prior to completion.
Next comes John Little or Hillary and Wendy. They live on the parks and they are the ones who do the handover of the homes once the sale has gone through.
To plan your park lifestyle visit, why not call us using our **free phone** Inspection Visit hotline number 0800 772 3980. Derick, Steve and Martin are here to take your call from 9am to 10pm UK time 7 days a week.
**free when using UK landlines**
As always, many thanks for taking the time to read all this. We hope you have found the information worthwhile.

BUYING A RESALE MOBILE HOME
The process is very easy. First choose from the homes on sale on our website, the homes you would like to view on a visit.
If a home ticks all the boxes during your visit you simply make a purchase request.
If the seller agrees to the sale we then arrange for a legal sales agreement to be drawn up and signed by all parties. This service costs just 200 Euros and it also includes a home check of the boiler, air-conditioning, cooker, fridge and freezer by the park engineers just prior to completion. Paying for this service takes the home off sale straight away.
A 10% deposit is then paid into a "Client Account" within 14 days and remains there until the completion date which will be on or before three months after an offer has been accepted. .
Just prior to the completion date the home is checked, we take possession of the home, and you will be advised to make the final payment to the seller. Once it is confirmed that the payment has been made the home is then yours.
No wonder resale mobile homes are so popular.
BUYING A NEW HOME
Buying a new mobile home or a custom-built Park Lodge Home is just as easy. It simply involves different processes. For UK manufactured mobile homes we recommend Willerby/BK Bluebird and Regal Leisure Homes.
Both manufacturers display show homes at various mobile home shows throughout the year, so you can always get to see the latest models. Regal Leisure also have the big advantage in that they are not far from Yeovil our UK base, which means we can easily arrange factory visits.
For Park Lodge Homes designed and built in Alicante it is a different process. Once a plot has been reserved you can start designing a home best suited to where it will be going. Where to put a French Door? Where the lounge should go? What view from the kitchen window?
To help you design your home we allocate a project manager to you. He will arrange a visit to the factory in Alicante so you can see for yourself all the choices you have. You can even start with a model already designed such as “The Windsor” and alter it to suit you.
No two Park Lodge Homes will look the same which means you can make the home into something special to you. You will also not be paying so much money to transport the home to the park as it will already be in Spain. This means more can be spent on the home itself.
New UK mobile home or custom built Park Lodge Home? The choice is yours after you have reserved your plot on either park. New homes require a 35% deposit and the balance paid once the home is ready to be transported.
WHY COSTA DIFFERENCE?
The name Costa Difference was chosen for a reason back in 2005. Costa as in Costa del Sol or Costa Blanca, and Difference because we want to show the difference between dedicated genuine residential mobile home parks and tourist camping sites that also allow mobile homes.
Making a difference is all down to being passionate in what we do. We are also working with park owners who share our passion. The result? We are showing two wonderful residential mobile home parks that are without doubt the best retirement parks that Spain has to offer.
Having chosen to represent residential parks only we are now tasked by the park owners to help people see for themselves if living in Spain is really for them. Spain does not suit everyone which is why that aspect of what we do is so important.
So where does our service start? We think that perhaps it has already started with you reading this and all the other information we have provided online. Maybe you now have some questions for us? If so please feel free to contact us and ask them.
Once you feel that you have found all the answers the next stage is to seriously think about coming on a visit to see a residential park and the lifestyle the residents enjoy.
On a short-dedicated visit you will have a golden opportunity to talk to residents you meet whilst on the park. Asking them questions at the time is a great idea because you will be hearing about their genuine experiences.
The Costa Difference way is very different. Our testimonials come from the residents themselves face to face. They have all gone through the same experiences. Started by asking questions, then came on a visit. After that it is back to the UK with plenty to think about.
If you do the same and moving to Spain becomes your dream, then we are going to be with you all the way.
There are many “Costa” companies on the internet selling everything to do with Spain but there is only ONE Costa Difference Mobile Homes in Spain. To find us again easily why not bookmark this page. We are at your service.

LATEST NEWS FROM SPAIN
Air-traffic controllers at Barcelona’s El Prat have announced a series of 24-hour strikes over the summer in an ongoing dispute over staff shortages.
The industrial action by workers from the air-traffic control centre at El Prat will begin on June 20th, a few days before the school holidays here in Spain and the summer holiday season really gets underway.
The dates of the 24-hour strikes have not been confirmed as yet but any action will affect flights in and out of El Prat plus flights to the Balearic Islands and airports on Spain’s eastern coast.
The strikes have been called by the Air-Traffic Controllers' Union (USCA) which is embroiled in an ongoing dispute over staffing levels.
USCA has repeatedly warned that there are an insufficient number of air traffic controllers to cover flight traffic forcing controllers to work overtime in order to provide cover.
