Now that we are coming into June it begins the period where the residents and the team in Spain no longer look at the weather forecast the day before. Sunshine is all but guaranteed for the next 3 to 4 months. The swimming pools are in full swing as well.
Other news is that Park La Posada is now offering its residents free Spanish lessons which as you can imagine are proving to be fun as well as getting a few words of Spanish firmly embedded into the brain. Speaking Spanish is not essential on the parks as all the residents are British and of course the staff in reception look after any day to day Spanish related issues.
The other good news is that from recent feedback from clients it seems that the housing market in the UK is moving at last and the lucky few who bought their mobile homes in May were able to do so following the sale of their home. We do have quite a few however who following their sight seeing tours have subsequently returned to the UK and put their homes up for sale so this might be good news for them. We can also report that one lucky couple have told us recently that they had an offer on their home within 8 days which is good news for them. They are now planning on returning in June to choose a home and thus begin the exciting prospect of starting a new life in the sun.
June is also the time of year that many people manage to find a bargain holiday before the kids break up for the summer. One big advantage of enjoying a holiday in the region is that it is very easy to take time out and have a day out in Antequera being shown all the parks and the life style. It is a very cost effective way of seeing the parks. Tom and Suzanne are the team members who meet people in Antequera and enjoy a day showing them around the parks and of course the local villages. There is of course no charge whatsoever for this service. For those who wish to really enjoy the experience and spend a night in Antequera as well we are more than happy to book the hotel.
To visit us in Antequera you can either hire a car and meet us at a very easy to find meeting point in Antequera or if you prefer there is a very good bus service from Malaga and we will then meet you at the booking office in Antequera bus station. As regulars know Park La Vina and Park La Posada are dedicated to single unit mobile homes whilst Flamingo Park consists of double unit park homes. You will now find on the website that there is a good choice of Park Homes available on Flamingo Park at prices well below similar homes being advertised in the UK.
What is the park like?
Flamingo Park is a very small park with less than 50 homes and is one of the few parks in Spain that is run by the local town council. It represents great value for money as the site fees are only 300 Euros a month including water. There is no council tax to pay as is the case on all parks. It is very different to the other parks as it only offers residents total peace and quiet along with spectacular views. Ask any resident how they feel when they see flamingos flying past.
There is of course a bar and restaurant along with a good sized swimming pool. The park itself is within easy walking distance of the village although a car is recommended as it is in the heart of the countryside and is only a short drive from many interesting places. For the animal lovers there is also a donkey sanctuary very close to the park.

BUYING A RESALE MOBILE HOME
The process is very easy. First choose from the homes on sale on our website, the homes you would like to view on a visit.
If a home ticks all the boxes during your visit you simply make a purchase request.
If the seller agrees to the sale we then arrange for a legal sales agreement to be drawn up and signed by all parties. This service costs just 200 Euros and it also includes a home check of the boiler, air-conditioning, cooker, fridge and freezer by the park engineers just prior to completion. Paying for this service takes the home off sale straight away.
A 10% deposit is then paid into a "Client Account" within 14 days and remains there until the completion date which will be on or before three months after an offer has been accepted. .
Just prior to the completion date the home is checked, we take possession of the home, and you will be advised to make the final payment to the seller. Once it is confirmed that the payment has been made the home is then yours.
No wonder resale mobile homes are so popular.
BUYING A NEW HOME
Buying a new mobile home or a custom-built Park Lodge Home is just as easy. It simply involves different processes. For UK manufactured mobile homes we recommend Willerby/BK Bluebird and Regal Leisure Homes.
Both manufacturers display show homes at various mobile home shows throughout the year, so you can always get to see the latest models. Regal Leisure also have the big advantage in that they are not far from Yeovil our UK base, which means we can easily arrange factory visits.
For Park Lodge Homes designed and built in Alicante it is a different process. Once a plot has been reserved you can start designing a home best suited to where it will be going. Where to put a French Door? Where the lounge should go? What view from the kitchen window?
To help you design your home we allocate a project manager to you. He will arrange a visit to the factory in Alicante so you can see for yourself all the choices you have. You can even start with a model already designed such as “The Windsor” and alter it to suit you.
No two Park Lodge Homes will look the same which means you can make the home into something special to you. You will also not be paying so much money to transport the home to the park as it will already be in Spain. This means more can be spent on the home itself.
New UK mobile home or custom built Park Lodge Home? The choice is yours after you have reserved your plot on either park. New homes require a 35% deposit and the balance paid once the home is ready to be transported.

Tens of thousands of Spaniards rallied across the country on Saturday to demand better pensions.
Pensioners braved rain and snow showers as they poured onto the streets of the capital Madrid and Barcelona to vent their anger at conservative Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy.
Pensioners all over Spain are fuming after seeing their benefits rise by an annual 0.25 in recent years, well below an official inflation rate of 1.2 percent in 2017.
The government however maintains it must balance the books somehow to stay within EU spending guidelines even as the population ages. The situation made worse of course with Spain having one of Europe's lowest birth rates.
According to Eurostat data, 28.7 percent of residents of EU states will be aged over 65 by 2080, up from 18.9 percent in 2015. Pensions will be a problem for every country by then of course.
