Important advice about the differences between dedicated residential style mobile home parks and camp sites that also allows mobile homes. There are two main reasons why a dedicated residential style mobile home park is different to a joint camping/mobile home park. 1) The licence for the joint park is more than likely for normal camping and the number of static mobile homes allowed could be restricted. The plot sizes also tend to be smaller and of course the rents higher. 2) When the Spanish go camping they like to party so at Easter and throughout the summer it will be very busy, very noisy and you will have children and dogs running around. Do not expect the noise to stop at midnight either. It could be the reason why there are so many resale mobile homes for sale on some of the camp sites on the Costa Del Sol. On some parks there are in excess of 40 for sale. CHECK FIRST if looking at different parks as to whether it is a camp site/mobile park or a residential style dedicated mobile home park you are being shown. If the park allows camping you have to accept strangers will be on the park at all times. Some sites have up to 200 camping pitches. Not so with a dedicated residential style park, only the mobile home owners have access. The park fees tend to be lower as well. Camp sites also have many different nationalities living on them where as on the UK style parks near Antequera all the residents are British and so a community spirit develops. This is an important factor as you will find making new friends so much easier, ask anyone already living here. The first question should always be "does the park also allow camping?". If yes then you at least now you know the drawbacks.
Dedicated mobile home parks like La Posada (above) have security, roads, lighting and a community spirit similar to the UK mobile home parks. As per video above. Doing your homework is always the first step and the camp sites/mobile parks on the internet ARE now being disguised with fancy names and claims that they are residential style parks which they are clearly NOT and in some cases no where near the town that they are being advertised as being located. If you are lead to believe that the park advertised is not a camp site before you get to see it and when you view the park you see that the sign on the gate has the word "camping" then ask yourself this "why was it necessary to disguise the fact that it is primarily a camp site"? Resale mobile homes are ideal in that they have already been on the park for 3 years and you know exactly what you are getting straight away. By looking at the websites you have begun doing the homework and if done properly and living in Spain is really what you want it is very easy to achieve. In short, go for quality and established parks only, no matter where in Spain you are thinking of. Would you like our email information pack?
