The Caravan shows: The reason why this newsletter is two days early. September is the month when the new 2018 models are on display for the first time and once again we will be at the Lawns show which is in Cottingham near Hull on the 2nd and 3rd of September and the Beaulieu show on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th of September.
What is different this year is that we will be taking a “how to buy a mobile home in Spain” video demonstration that lasts 7 minutes and it will be shown every half an hour during both shows. The demonstration is perfect for anyone wanting to know all about the different types of parks in Spain, what is involved, and of course all the tricks of the trade when it comes to buying a resale.
If you do nothing else but stand and watch the 7-minute demonstration you will leave either show fully informed as to the differences between all the parks in Spain and between buying a resale mobile home or a new mobile home. The demonstration is designed to pass on very useful information in a casual manner. To see it for yourself just find the “Costa Difference retire to Spain” marquee in the Willerby display area and turn up on the hour or on the half hour.

Park news: For the first time this year we have a few days where we are fully booked and every available team member on Park La Posada will be looking after clients in one form or another. This is because we have quite a few dedicated four-day visits running as well as one-day visits by clients who are still on holiday on the Costa del Sol. The 11th of September to the 15th of September are the days to avoid please.
For anyone else keen to come and visit the parks this year October is a fantastic month to visit. This is because the weather is still wonderful and of course the flights are a lot cheaper.
The other news is that one more Park Lodge Home is due to arrive on Park La Posada this week. As with other custom-built Park Lodge Homes the owner gets to choose a model name for their own home as it is unique. In this case the name chosen by the owner is “The Ella”. So, “The Ella” Park Lodge Home is soon to be on Park La Posada.

News from Spain: If anyone had any doubts about Spain wanting to keep in with the UK over Brexit then the Spanish Government made sure there will be no doubts about how they value the British. Gibraltar has always been an issue between the UK and Spain and they know that is unlikely to change any time soon. However, as with all issues of conflict there are two sides. The good news is however that Spain have made it very clear that Gibraltar will not be used as a bargaining chip during the EU-UK Brexit negotiations.
To come out with such a statement means we have a very good idea on what Spain wants to come out from the Brexit negotiations. “Business as usual” will be the best way to describe it. That is certainly what is happening now as we continue to register new owners as residents in Spain. Retiring to Spain has been an option and first choice destination for many years before the EU and will certainly still be the case once Brexit has completed in March 2019. One thing is for certain though, nothing is going to change weather wise or lifestyle wise no matter what is decided on in the end.

Ex-Pat: Patrick otherwise known as Ex-Pat on the park decided that for the annual four-day feria festival in the village he would be the driver so that his friends and neighbours can enjoy visiting all the bars and eating stalls in the streets along with the music of course. The best time to start is 10pm when the feria comes alive (the Spanish start late) so with his 7-seater full he left the park just after ten.
Finding parking was going to be the first issue and he had expected that he would have to park some way out, so he dropped everyone else off first. He was quite pleased with himself however when he managed to find a plot of land that had hardly any cars parked. Safely parked well away from the road in the corner he re-joined everyone in the square, he could already see they were already buzzing and enjoying themselves.
He too was soon soaking up the wonderful atmosphere and enjoying the Spanish food washed down with a Coke in his case. He saw everyone else enjoying the beer and wine at 1? a drink and began to regret his decision to drive and drink Coke all night. It was only once a year he told himself. Many of the ladies in the village were wearing typical Spanish dresses which simply added to the occasion.
The night flew by and it was soon gone 2am so off he went to find his car and to his surprise he found it surrounded by cars in every direction. Every Spaniard for miles around had parked all around his car tucked away in the corner and there was no way he was going to get his car out any time soon. Worse still is he knew that the Feria lasts until 6am. What to do now? He was thinking. The answer was that Ex-Pat finds the local taxi parked as usual near the bank and arranges it to do two trips back to the park so everyone could get home.
Next morning Eric dropped him down to the village and guess what, there was his car all on its own. “That is the last time I am going to do that” moaned Ex-Pat to Eric, “drinking Coke all night and then have to get a taxi back”. “Sod that!”

Seeing the parks before Christmas is a great idea if you are due to retire sometime in 2018. It gives you plenty to talk about with the family over Christmas itself

Factory news: The factory in Burgos is now ready to start production for us on custom designed show home models. The first model up is very special. It is “The Reading”. Ordered as a show home it will knock your socks off. Here are just some of the features. First it is a one-bedroom one-bathroom home that easily converts to a two-bedroom home when needed. No wasted second bedroom being empty for most of the time as it does not have one, and of course a nice big master bedroom. The master bedroom is also en-suite. How have our in-house design team managed that?
First up are sliding doors built into the walls of a small hall way leading to the master bedroom, bathroom and lounge. Next up you have a special sofa bed that is a full-size standard sofa in front of the fireplace and TV most of the time but converts easily into a full size comfortable double bed when needed.
Next up is the very clever part. The home also has an integrated corner wardrobe unit built and combined with a display unit in the lounge. An ingenious idea as it has a wardrobe that does not look out of place in the slightest in the lounge and it is the first model home to have one. When you have guests staying they simply use the lounge as a separate bedroom at night. They can use the wardrobe to store their clothes yet it will not look like a wardrobe at all in the lounge itself. It will simply look like part of a display unit.
The other all-time first in this model will be a long kitchen in what should be the lounge with a very comfortable spacious dining area. The experience at meal times will be nothing at all like eating in a static caravan. You can have a full-size dining table.
So why have the design team come up with this idea? Firstly, nearly every UK manufactured home that arrives with two bedrooms has a sofa bed in the lounge as well which is wasted when the home is being used for residential use. The homes are designed that way of course as most homes go on to become a holiday home sleeping a family of six for their two-week holiday.
Secondly when the home is bought for residential use in Spain the decking outside becomes the lounge and dining room for most of the year. Designing a home such as “The Reading” with the sole purpose of being used on a residential park is a luxury for the team, and it is all down to the fact that we design and build them one at a time. Finally: Dogs. Like in the UK the Spanish have a dangerous dogs list and it is important to check the list to see if your pet falls into any of the breeds listed if you are thinking of coming to Spain. That includes cross breeds as well. The breeds that are not allowed are,
Doberman, Pit Bull Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Rottweiler, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro, Tosa Inu, Akita Inu
If you are thinking of bringing a dog to Spain and there is some doubt about it being a cross breed with a dog on the list you will need a vet’s certificate confirming what breed of dog it is, you can get one at the same time as getting a pet passport. Unfortunately, saying that your pet is a “Heinz 57” is not acceptable as that is not classed as a breed so a vet’s certificate will be required if it resembles a banned breed in any way.
There are also rules about the size of dog as well as far as the two parks go. It must not exceed a height of 50 cm or weigh over 20 Kg.
Both parks have wonderful walks all around so exercising your pet is always a pleasure and of course you can forget the wellies.

BUYING A RESALE MOBILE HOME
The process is very easy. First choose from the homes on sale on our website, the homes you would like to view on a visit.
If a home ticks all the boxes during your visit you simply make a purchase request.
If the seller agrees to the sale we then arrange for a legal sales agreement to be drawn up and signed by all parties. This service costs just 200 Euros and it also includes a home check of the boiler, air-conditioning, cooker, fridge and freezer by the park engineers just prior to completion. Paying for this service takes the home off sale straight away.
A 10% deposit is then paid into a "Client Account" within 14 days and remains there until the completion date which will be on or before three months after an offer has been accepted. .
Just prior to the completion date the home is checked, we take possession of the home, and you will be advised to make the final payment to the seller. Once it is confirmed that the payment has been made the home is then yours.
No wonder resale mobile homes are so popular.

New UK mobile home or custom-built residential Park Lodge Home? The choice is yours after you have reserved your plot on a park. New homes require a 35% deposit and the balance paid once the home is ready to be transported from the UK. Park Lodge Homes require a 30% deposit and the balance when the home is ready to leave the factory.

LATEST NEWS FROM SPAIN
A Spanish town in northern Spain has said that it will fine anybody who is seen buying items from illegal street vendors. The fine will be in the form of a fixed penalty of €300.
The order made in the resort of Salou has come in to effect this week with the ruling "The purchase or acquisition in the public space of food, beverages and other products from unauthorized street vending" will be punished with the hefty fine.
In another regulation, the sale or action of street vending “without the corresponding license" will also be sanctioned.
The town council, in a bid to clean up the area, also declared it would penalise those who drop litter without using public bins with fines of between €100 and €400.
